Hi all,

Welcome to the ESC401 Drama Wiki.

Here you will be able to post all your thoughts and ideas for your playbuilding task.

You will be using this site for the following:

  • Regularly post in your group playbuilding page, research ideas including articles, youtube videos, production values as well as organisational ideas and discussion points.
  • Discuss these ideas by posting your comments into your group page.
  • Check the Playbuilding Calender for deadline dates
  • Pose questions to each other or to me with any thoughts you have about your play

I have created your allocated groups in the Projects which you will find located on the left hand side navigation bar. Click on your Group's page to begin discussion. I would like you all to introduce yourself to your group as an initial discussion point.

Each Group must decide on a theme for their play. I have posted a number of ideas on the Ideas Page. You can use any of these ideas or another idea that you get from your research. It is important to post all your ideas onto your group page so that I can monitor your progress. All ideas/themes must be approved by me before you can move to the next stage. Each team must have a DIFFERENT theme, so if another team has already chosen a particular theme, you will have to come up with a new one.

You will find the different elements in The Playbuilding Process to guide you through each step. Remember to use your wiki to pose any questions or problems if you are having troubles!

Your rehearsals need to be recorded for your logbooks. Please fill out the Playbuilding Rehearsal Recording template, found in the Recording Rehearsals page each session.

You need to start to think about your first Playbuilding Task by allocating a team member each week to record the rehearsal process. You will then create your own short movies using imovies to produce a team 'visual diary' as part of your log book assessment.

All the deadlines and dates for your playbuilding tasks are in the Playbuilding Calender, so please check this regularly.
